Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, a religious journey that every Muslim who is physically and financially able is required to undertake at least once in their lifetime. It is an annual pilgrimage to the Holy city of Makkah Al Mukarama in Saudi Arabia, and it occurs during the Islamic month of Dhu al- Hijjah.
During Hajj, Muslims perform a series of rituals, such as walking around the Kaaba (the cube-shaped structure at the center of the Masjid al-Haram mosque), standing at the plain of the Arafat in prayer, and symbolically stoning the devil at Mina. The pilgrimage is seen as an act of worship, spiritual renewal and a demonstration of unity among Muslims from all over the world.
